By entering the website section, you can follow these steps to get everything ready for your first campaign: #### **Contacts** To send a campaign, you need to have an existing audience! Therefore, it's essential that you [import your contacts](https://2553715.hs-sites.com/en/import-contacts-from-a-csv-file-into-carts-guru-1?hsLang=en), [have a look through the contact view](https://faq.carts.guru/hc/en-us/articles/360029929451?hsLang=en), and [ensure their opt-ins are in order.](https://2553715.hs-sites.com/en/permissive-vs-strict-opt-in-modes-1?hsLang=en) If you are just starting your website and you don't have any contact, you can avoid importing contacts and directly [launch your first campaign](https://support.carts.guru/hc/en-us/articles/360038832931-Most-popular-campaigns-or-create-from-scratch-).  #### **Lists** It's not enough that you have imported your contacts. To successfully run a campaign, you should segment your audience by using certain criteria that are of interest to you. For example, if you want to create a special offer for VIP customers, you should create a dynamic list of VIP customers before starting the campaign. You can create dynamic and static lists with Carts Guru.
